Dr. Jaspreet Kalsi, Chiropractor
Dr. Kalsi’s experience with chiropractic services began when she was a teenager and was experiencing low back and foot pain. At the time, she wasn’t aware of what complete chiropractic care was capable of doing so she wasn’t expecting a huge difference in her symptoms, especially in her foot. She was pleasantly surprised, however, when only after her second chiropractic treatment she felt a tremendous amount of relief. She continued with care ever since because not only did chiropractic care alleviate her symptoms of pain, it also helped to improve the function of her muscles so the likelihood of re-injury would be low. After witnessing the benefits of complete chiropractic care, it was only a matter of time before she decided that becoming a chiropractor was what she wanted to do for the rest of her life.
After graduating high school, Dr. Kalsi attended the University of British Columbia and received her Bachelor of Science degree in Life Science in 2011. After taking a short break, she began her journey as a chiropractor at New York Chiropractic College in January of 2012, where she graduated in March 2015 with Summa Cum Laude honours and as valedictorian of her class. Following graduation, Dr. Kalsi moved back to her beautiful home of British Columbia to help serve her local community.
Dr. Kalsi believes that everyone can benefit from chiropractic services. Her approach to chiropractic care involves assessing and treating each individual as a whole and creating chiropractic treatment plans tailored to each individual’s health care goals. In addition to adjustments, Dr. Kalsi loves to use various soft tissue techniques, including therapeutic stretches and rehabilitation programs, in order to optimize a patient’s wellbeing and keep them injury-free.
Frequently Asked Questions About Chiropractic Services
What is Chiropractic Care?
A number of highly-effective adjusting approaches help improve spinal biomechanics and reduce nervous system interference. The approach used is based on judgment, years of experience and what your specific needs are. This may involve a manual thrust administered to free up “stuck” joints or possibly a handheld adjusting instrument that delivers a consistent, low-force thrust. Touches along the spine help to reduce tension patterns that build up over time and breathing techniques may be utilized to further reduce spinal tension and everyday stresses.
Is Chiropractic Adjusting Safe?
Chiropractic services are widely recognized as one of the safest, drug-free, surgery-free therapies available for the treatment of back and neck pain, headaches, and other musculo-skeletal conditions. Few other therapies can demonstrate a better safety record for the treatment of spinal pain syndromes. Of course, no health treatment is completely free of potential adverse effects. Even common over-the-counter medicines carry a risk. Fortunately, the vast majority of adverse effects associated with spinal adjustment are typically minor and short-lived.
Can a Chiropractor Help Me?
Aches and pains are signs that your body isn’t working right. Your nervous system controls and regulates every cell, organ and tissue of your body. When your nervous system doesn’t work right, you don’t work right. Physical, chemical or emotional stresses produce a defensive posture. Muscles contract, locking spinal joints that pinch or irritate nearby nerves. Lack of nervous system integrity sets the stage for disease and ill health. A thorough examination helps chiropractors find these vertebral subluxations. Applying a precise force to stuck spinal joints helps the body right itself. Health usually returns as frequent visits early on help to restore nervous system integrity. That’s why complete chiropractic care has helped millions get well and stay well.
